AC on makes car hesitate while driving

When AC is on in park it works great. With AC on and in drive but not moving it works fine. When I step on the gas the compressor makes loud noise and the vehicle hesitates. Any ideas? I am hoping that it may be one of the pressure switches and not a bad compressor.

Sounds like the compressor is locking-up have it further checked-AC pressures

Sorry - but sounds like the compressor clutch is going out. The only way to know for sure is have it checked out with some guages by a shop. My car did that and the clutch acutally came apart when it froze up.
