2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Heater Core Replacement Remove Entire Dash Access

Heater core replacement. Do I have the remove the entire dash, or can I access it from underneath? I just notice the carpet was damp and I just started using the heater, so I assume the core is leaking?
