I changed fuel pump on 2002 chevy astro van fired right up drove around a bit smelled wire burning smell turned van off looked for smoke .started van back up didn,t smell again ,but now van won,t start pump does not hum

there are fuses and fusible links that are there to protect this. it's probably a fusible link off your starter or power feed. Also check the maxi fuses in the underhood electrical center.
