2002 Cadillac Seville had a P0741 code alone no other codes. C/E light on. Changed Tcc solenoid, tranny fluid, filter and gasket. Old solenoid was broken, fell apart in my hands when removing. Put all back together, filled with new tranny fluid, drove car around my yard, stopped put it in park, now it will not go into any gear, just revs when put into drive or reverse etc. Took everything apart again, drained fluid to double check my work all ok put back together still not going into gear. Trans shifted fine prior to replacing solenoid for C/E light. No slipping or anything. When car was running after putting everything together for second time trans fluid was not moving. Again car ran like a dream prior to this "fix" for the P0741 code. What would cause trans to stop going into gear? Solenoid really has nothing to do with gears only overdrive right? Please any help would be appreciated car is apart again, trans pan is off, fluid drained looking for answers. Thanks Only did this to pass inspection and get C/E light to go off

When you fill with fluid put in drive then reverse then recheck fluid level I t may be low on fluid. This could be turbine seals worn out but check to make sure filter is seated correctly that happens a lot when diy people change fluid.

Thank you for responding. Took your recommendation and checked everything it was good, so we thought it may be a bad solenoid we took it out and went to the Cadillac dealer to get one that wasn't after market. Put it in and finally realized what the issue is but do not know how to fix it. The TCC solenoid keeps popping out, It does pop in like it should but I guess the build up of pressure is popping it out and it will not go into any gear. Remember the old one that I took out, that was causing the bad code fell apart in my hands. Any Ideas would be appreciated.

Ok I found this in the tips concerning the tcc and this is probably what your real problem is. So I would advise that you have a trans guy do this. See pic
