Cadillac DTS Parking brake Problem

Maybe a problem with shift interlock mechanism. There is a bypass for the shift interlock mechanism. Probably in your owners. Set the parking brake. Block the wheels. The bypass lever should be on right side of shift lever, console shift. You will have to remove the shift lever cover to get at the lever. With the lever actuated, shift into neutral.

That was just to get you out of a bind, won't fix the problem.
