Car wont start after overheat
I have an 02 bmw 325ci with the 2.5 inline 6. a couple days ago the car overheated in the red for about 2 miles at highway speeds before i could get out of traffic. when i got off the ramp the car died and would not restart. here is what i have tried.
-unhooked batter for 30 mins to reset computer.
-pulled plugs to check for antifreeze.
-checked oil for foaming or antifreeze.
-fuel pump comes on.
engine turns over and sounds healthy and when i checked for spark there was none. is there something in the computer that would shutdown the ignition during an overheat. i checked fuses associated with anything engine or computer and they are good. any ideas?

No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, cap and rotor, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it and keep testing
