A service engine light is on, but we had just had the oil changed and they did not shut it off

Intermittent non starting can be due to many factors and when problem occurs, you need to test what is missing.

MAINTENANCE REQUIRED - PROCEDURE 4
       
1. At 5900-6100 miles MAINT REQ'D light blinks for 10 seconds when the ignition switch is turned to ON (II) position. At 7400-7600 miles MAINT REQ'D light illuminates and stays on while ignition switch is in ON (II) position.

2. To reset MAINT REQ'D light, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Push and hold the Trip or Select and the reset buttons simultaneously. Turn ignition switch to ON (II) position, and continue to hold buttons for more than 10 seconds.
