I had a similar thing happen on mine.
I have rear disc brakes which have whats called Drum in hat parking brake shoes, the shoes contact the inside of the rotor when applied.
Mine, the parking brake shoe lining detached from the actual metal shoe and was just free to move about in the back of the rotor and get itself wedged in there and lock up the wheel.
Have the tech remove the rotor and visually inspect the parking brake shoes.
Hope this helps

Yes, I believe that is what has occurred.

One of the parking brake shoe lining has detached itself from the shoe causing the brakes to bind when reversing.
