2001 Volkswagen Jetta Repair Question

I have a glx vr6 now i bought a used cluster because my old on is haveing problems but when i put it in the car will not stay running what can i do
The car has a immoblieizer in it but the dealer said i would have to buy a new cluster after they told me that i can buy a used one and put it right in

u will need to use the orignal head.

change out the faulty gauges or such.
