Toyota Avalon Struts Problem

Neighbor had all 4 strut assemblies replaced on her 2001 Avalon. She said the car rides real bumpy. I checked out the car and the rear end is much higher than it used to be, there is no give in the rear end when I apply weight on the rear or try to lift the rear (Very tight, reminds me of spacers in coil springs). Is this a defect in the struts installed or will this issue resolve itself. Very uncomfortable ride right now.

Either the struts are defective or the suspension links have been installed incorrectly. When tightening them, they should be made with load on the wheels.
