2001 Toyato 4 runner, three lights came on while driving. Check engine, VSC off, and VSC trac, I have seen this question asked several times on a 2001, but it has never been answered. I do not understand the check engine light would have anthing to do with the other two lights. Any help would be most appericated. 161,000 miles and well maintanined.

Get a scan done to retrieve for trouble codes to understand what is wrong.

CEL takes precedence over any other indicators lights. When engine has a performance problem, the VCS and VSC TRAC indicator might come on and when the CEL fault is rectified, the other 2 would go off if it is the byproduct of it.

Thanks, you where right all the Vcs and vsc trac lights where triggered from the initial problem, which stored only one code, the gas cap was loose. Tighten the gas cap, cleared the code and all lights went out.
