Engine is making noise under acceleration

I have a 2001 Grand Vitara JLX There is an increased engine noise on the left hand side of the engine when I press on the accelerator. Easy fix? This problem isnt affecting my fuel economy or anything its just noisy if the windows are down. Was wondering if this is a common problem with a suzuki. The engine runs well and has had a recent oil change- Not sure if that would be beneficial information or not but its worth a try thanks!
