i am having the same problem with my saturn I keep flushing it monthly, also I noticed you had an idle problem, mine is high idle all the time at 2000 rpms what was the solution that u had to do to fix yours or does anyone have any solutions that I could use also does anyone know how to change the heater core?

Found the problem with my son's heater not heating. After two thermostats were replaced, it was determined that the system had an air lock. The system is supposed to be able to do it by itself. It did not. We started the car let it warm up to operating temp and started purging (squeezing) the coolant hoses, which showed air bubbles in the fill tank. Problem solved. Heater works like it should.
