Wipers work fine but when they are shut off, they park straight up in middle of windshield. Linkage transmission was broke, but has been replaced.

I assume wipers were not parking correctly and the linkage broke when owner tryed to push the wiper arm down to the park position at bottom of windshield.

Or if it snows where the car was there was excessive snow or ice on the windshield they out the wipers on and broke the linkage. Thats pretty common to see where there is snow and ice. If the motor is timed correctly and not parking then it usually a bad motor.
