My 2001 Grand am won't start. When turning the key it will act like it's gonna start and sometimes even turn over and start for about half a second. Is this a bad fuel pump? Car had new sparks and fuel filter

If it cranks good but won't start, I'd have to visually check for spark at the spark plugs, engine cranking. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check fuel pressure. You have to be sure the battery has a full charge.

If it starts then dies after a couple of seconds, check your security system.
