My nissan keeps trying to die when i'm waiting at a light, but it idols just fine while in park, and just this morning it almost didnt want to start, turns just fine I just had to give it some gas to keep it from dieing out, could that be the fuel pump? Or the knox censor? Oh and I have been notesing an ocasional foul smell.

Is the Malfunction Indicator Light showing?
What is the idling rpm? Does it fluctuate when A/c is turned on and off?

Yes, dont know, and I think it does seem that it works harder when the a/c is on.

If the MIL is indicating, it means an error has been detected in the engine management system and you need to retrieve the troule code to understand what is causing it.
Most parts stores provides free scanning services.
