It is concerning handbrake.

For a about 6 months or so my handbrake doesn´t want to release back. When I pull it it will hold good but by this time I have to take a small hammer and dapp the lever back, otherwise it is holding . It is a little more on one side. The cables seem to be in good condition.Do the calibers need to be taken out and cleaned or is there another way. I put in new brake pads approx. 1 year ago. With much appreciation for an answer. I would be very thankful. With warm greetings from Mr. Sigurgeir H. Bjarnason, in Iceland

Check the parking brake actuators on the rear brakes for binding. But it's possible that the cables themselved may be bound.
