Mini-Van Bucks When Starting Up

2001 Mazda MPV mini-van shakes from front to back and quivers upon starting. Once starting to drive, it mostly lets up, just shakes a little. Engine light comes on sometimes, but then the next time it starts up, it's off. Then may come on again sporatically.
