CONT. MISSES AT 2000 RPM UNDER LOAD BUT NEVER ANY TROUBLE CODES SHOW UP. HAVE REPLACED ALL COP UNITS,PLUGS, FUEL PUMP, FILTER,THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR AND CATS.COULD THE O2 SENSORS BE GOING BAD? MILEAGE IS 150000.OR TORQUE CONVERTER LOSING PR

2001 Lincoln Continental • 150,000 miles

Have replaced all cop units, plugs, fuel pump, filter, throttle postion sensor and cats. Could the O2 sensor be going bad? Or torque converter slipping? Code P1744 did show up once. It seems like jerking motion at 40to60 mph. It seems ok til the engine heats up. In neutral the engine runs great. Thanks.

P1744 is excessive slip detected. Try flushing the fluid and having a new filter installed. Make sure the proper fluid is used and is kept at the proper level.

Problem fixed, I had the transmission rebuilt and that took care of it.
