What do i need to get from my transmission if the car wont go into overdrive?
The transmission is smooth until it gets to the 4th gear then most of the time it seems like it has trouble getting into the 4th gear. some times the car seems like it is going to stall when going from a complete stop to go at a light but then i take my foot off gas and then back on and it will be okay. when driving on the highway or going over around 50mph it seems like it is hesitant to go faster and seems like it takes awhile to get up to speed.

If the check engine light has come on, have the computer scanned. It could be several things such as a speed sensor, torque converter, shift solenoid...
