2001 Honda Civic car wont go above 30mph

Car will start and go in reverse but only went to about 30 mph in drive then dropped to nothing. Have tried restarting and shifting to D3 but still will not drive.

Check transmission oil for quantity and condition, if it is dark and smells burnt get to a transmission specialist for first hand diagnoses as I feel that there is a sever internal problem that will require to be investigated first hand.
