Hello, my ABS light comes on for about 2-5 seconds whenever I start the car, but then it disappears and doesn't come back until I start the car again and repeats the cycle: stay on for about 5 seconds when I start the car, goes away, and comes back when I start the car. I need to get my emissions test done but I'm afraid they will fail me if they see that light come on, for even the brief amount of time it's there. Is there anything seriously wrong with the ABS? Should I get it checked out or is it just a fluke?
That is exactly the way it is supposed to work. It is going through a self test. It goes out when it passes.
