2001 GMC Sonoma Repair Question

Trying to change the rear axel seal on 01 sonoma. I removed the pinion from the spider gears and i can see the c clip but there is a metal spacer in the way. How do i get it out to remove the axel
Need to remove spacer from axel so i can get c clip out

There is a pin that goes thru the spider gear that is held in with a bolt if the pin is removed you can push the axle in to remove the C clip.

Yes that is the pinion bolt, i removed that but there is a a metel spacer between the two axels, you cannot just push the axel in and pop the c clip out. you have to remove this spacer but i dont know how.

So is this a locking differential or a non locking differential?
