Hello thank you for any advice or opinion you may have.
I recently blew a spark plug #8 in my 01 f150 4.6l.
when it blew it did some damage. Does this appear beyond repair via
largest time sert? Stressed out a bit being without my only transportation right now. Really on a budget any advice for my cheapest course of action?

They make a repair kit specifically for that engine that works pretty good.

Putting an insert in might not be easy as you need to enlarge the plug threads before it can go in and the hole being deep down don't make the work easy.

If you can get the insert in, that would be the cheapest option.

I've used this kit before and it's pretty simple to use. They actually recommend using a air ratchet on the drill and the tap. It comes with a guide that keeps the drill and tap aligned straight. The ones I use have a lip on the top to create a good seal. They use a sealer/epoxy on the threads to seal and lock it in tightly. You will need a long blow gun to blow all the chips out of the cylinder. (Very important).

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
That kit looks exactly like what I need.
My only concern was the damage that
made the plug hole larger.
I hope to find a mechanic that already
uses a kit like this as I have never done such.

Many shops may already have the kit. I have one but haven't used it in years. It worked great when I used it.
