ECM sensor on thermostat housing
2001 Ford Escort ZX2, Does the ECM sensor on the thermostat housing control the temp gauge on the panel on the dash. I believe that the ECM sensor is located on the bottom of the housing.

Hello,
Ok, the sensor you are speaking of is called the CTS (Coolant Temperature Sensor) it turns the Electric Coolant Fan on and off. The ETS (Engine Temperature Sensor) is what works the Dash Gauge.
In most cases the Engine Temp Sensor is located on the engine block about midway on front of engine when looking at engine from front of vehicle.
