2001 Chevrolet Tracker Repair Question

4wd dash light doesnt come on when engaged.4wd doesnt engage.standard shift. the front driveshaft turns.

Check the 4WD switch at transfer case. Does 4WD Low light indicates?

No. The 4wd low light doesnt come on.In high or low.

Check the fuses in diagram first. If all fuses ar good, you could have a fault with the PCM wiring or a bad ground circuit ( behind right side of dash) for the 4WD switches

Im not sure of rhe fuse location.

Sorry, I was supposed to attach the diagram.

You would need a testlight or DVOM handy if you want to continue with diagnostics if the fuses are good.

Here are the schematics. Turn ignition switch on and at the PCM, use the test light to ground terminal # 26, C3 (connector # 3 ) and note if the 4WD Low indicator light comes on.

Likewise repeat above with terminal # 18 of C4, for 4WD light.

Note the wire colors to be sure which terminal is the correct one.
