2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo tranmission

Hey my transmission doesn't change into over drive, it shifts once and that's it then it will go all the way to 6000 rmps if I give it gas, at 120kmph its at 5000 rpm, if my tranny finished?

Is the trans fluid clean and full? Has the check engine light come on?

Fluid is clean could add more to fill it, and my engine light was on way before it started happening I believe its my o2 senor or something little

Remember to check the trans fluid level with the engine warm, the engine running and the transmission in park. If it is really low, I would refill it.

As far as the check engine light, I would recommend that you have the computer scanned to see if there are new codes related to the transmission.
