2001 Chevrolet Malibu Engine problems

My car runs hot. The water in the reservoir runs out very quickly. We don't see any on the ground at all. Where could it be going? How do we fix it?

I need you to check a couple things for me. First, check to make sure the coolant isn't mixing with the engine oil. If the oil is slimy or light brown in color, let me know. If that checks out okay, pay attention to the exhaust. Check to see if there is white smoke coming from it.
