How do u replace a bcm

My 2001 check impala will crank up in cut off, got a bcm will this work

Did you get a used bcm or a new one?You need to get a new one because the bcm stores the mileage in it and once the mileage is programed in it you cant change it to the mileage you had before you changed the bcm.Also the new bcm has to be programed with the correct calibration options mileage etc.Then the pass lock has to be learned so it will start.All the this is done by the dealer.
