I ran diagnostics on the car and got these codes
PO420- Catalyst System Efficiency below threshold (bank1)
PO341- Camshaft position sensor circuit range/performance
PO128- coolant thermostat
PO440- Evaporative emission control system malfunction

What would cause these and how do I fix it?

I deleted all the codes and the check engine light went off and hasn't come back on but havent drove it much, also getting smoke out of the exhaust. Wasn't doing it when I bought the car. Don't really know much about the car. Just changed the oil today and that seemed to help the smoke a little?

The P0420 is usually a cat the P0128 is usually a thermostat. What size engine do you have?

Do you have a scan tool that can read live data and can read the fuel pressure sensor and cam sensor readings?

With the p0440 you will need it and with the P0341 you use it to see the readings of the cam sensor for the very first steps of the trouble tree. With the P0440 you use to see if you have a issue with the fuel tank pressure sensor readings or you have a issue with your evap system.

To get a scan tool that would read those would be very expensive. Lets start with code P0128 I posted the trouble tree for it. Its usually a bad thermostat let me know what you find.I will keep working on the scan tool issue.
