2001 Audi TT Repair Question

Something is holding the head from being pulled out of car located on the driver's side-firewall side of head.

1.8 quattro turbo. all head bolts out, intake off, belt off, flex pipe off. Do I need to remove the (3) torx head bolts going straight down in the exhaust manifold? and does the turbo intake boot need to come off? to facilitate the removal of the head. Do all the things that need to come off get removed from the top of the car or do I need to go from underneath (which seems impossible)! but if you say yes... that's no problem.

Sometimes you have to take a rubber mallet to get it loose. If the turbo pipe or bolts need to come out the head should still move some and you will be able to tell if bolts need removal. I recommend reoving the bolts though.
