Running out of petrol can cause a few problems 1. garbage in the tank may have plugged your fuel filter 2. you may have an airlock in the injection rail, remove bleeder cap and depress. 3.you may have ruined your fuel pump running it without fuel

I don't have any manuals on the specific vehicle, but we can try some preliminary checks, when you turn the key on can you hear the fuel pump activate? pull a spark plug wire make sure you grounded it and check it for spark while someone is cranking it.
