My Saturn starts and runs but when I step on the exelerator it revs slowly or not at all.

I have taken the car to a mechanic but he could not figure it out. He changed the gas petal and it still does the same thing. He put in a throttle body to see if that would help but no dice the same thing it revs up slowly or not at all. Now the motor in the car was change about six months before this started happening. But it ran fine till one day it just stopped reving normally, and started this.

Just to add to this one is the reduced power light on?Also like jacobandnicolas asked what are the exact code numbers do you have in the computer?Its most likely the harness going to the throttle body is bad. Really common issue on those cars the throttle body itself and the harness going to it. There is even a bulletin for that issue.I have done a ton of them myself for that very issue.

Yes it kept on telling him (high voltage to gas petal). But it did not have any number codes.

Thats crazy the reduced performance light is on and there is no codes?I have never seen that before in all my many years as a satun service tech. Does the check engine light come on while driving?If the gas pedal has a high voltage reading there has to be a code set somewhere.

The check engine light is on. The service engine soon light is on. All the time. I looked at the computer when he had it hooked up and he cleared it several time just to show me and everytime it said high voltage to gas petal. But I did not see and number codes on this computer. Like I said the motor was swapped but the same type of motor went in. Six months after the switch it started with this problem and I need to get this car running soon. Runs and starts fine when I go to step on the gas petal it rev so slow or it wont rev at all. I pulled the wires to the throttle body and it ran rough and when I put them back on it ran nice and steady. Thats all I know about it.

Its going to run rough when you unplug the throttle body your unplugging the tps sensors etc. Those cars had a lot of issues with the throttle body harnesses I have replaced tons of those for throttle issue codes and the car being in reduced performance mode. Your car is going into limp mode because of the throttle by wire issues your having. First thing I need from you is to get me the five digit code numbers you have not code descriptions. It will be a P followed by a four digit number. Code readers can be bought on amazon for like 20 if you get one that reads some live data there 50 something on amazon.
