Sometimes will not start

I have a Rover 25, sometimes will not start and tears while riding on cold engine, what this can be and how much roughly would be cost to repair? Many thanks

It is not possible to suggest any costing without finding out what is causing the problem.

If engine cranks and does not start, you need to check what is missing.
