Car shudders until the engine is warm then runs ok and keeps happening all the time when its cold there no engine warning light comes on so dont know what it could be

Is this shudder a drive problem? auto or manual? please advise exactly when this happens, if auto check trans oil level first.

it starts ok but if you dont let it get warm the rev counter goes up and down like its shuddering its hard to explain
