2000 Pontiac Grand Am Repair Question
Sudden shut down/power loss while on highway
These all sound related to low system voltage. Generator failures are REAL common on GM vehicles. Start by jump-starting the battery to see if the engine will run, then measure the battery voltage while it's running, (boosting vehicle disconnected). If it's not between 13.75 and 14.75 volts, replace the generator. To reduce the number of repeat failures, replace the battery too unless it's less than about two years old.
