Hi I'm having trouble with my peugeot 306 coupe 2000 x reg I can't get the hood to work, I have juat bought it second hand yesterday and it had the wrong size car battery so i have bought a brand new one and the bloke said it neede new key battery so I h

I have tried turning the engine off and on and pressing the large remote button but to no avail

By hood do you mean convertible cover, or the cover over the engine?
