Mitsubishi Eclipse Spark Problem
Any idea what could cause the elctrode to become bent while in the car?

You need to provide a whole lot more information. When you say "electrode", I'm thinking of a house furnace or an arc welder. What exactly are you referring to?

If it is the spark plugs that you are refering to, improper installation and wrong plug reach are possibilities.
