I lent my daughter my 2000 Mazda Protege. She didn't notice the hand break was on. She drovre it for a good ammount of time. Vapor started coming out of the defroster vent. It's a sticky vapor, oily on the windshield glass. Only comes out defroster vents below the front windshield.

Sounds like leaking heater core. Did she overheat it? Dragging brakes puts a big load on engine. So what happened to the brakes?

No, it did not overheat. The temp is normal. I checked the water and the oil. Nothing out of the ordinary.

The air conditioning seems to be wrking properly, for now that is. It's leaking an oily substance out of the bottom of the dash board on he passenger side florrboard. It's also overheating now.

I'm gonna say leaking heater core again. See if radiator is losing antifreeze.
