Alternator swapping

Is possible mount an wj grand cheeroke 3.1 td alternator on wrangler tj 2000?can onboard computer of my tj refuse wj alternator?thank you for all

The voltage regulator inside the Engine Computer doesn't care which alternator it is controlling, in fact, it won't know the difference because they all have the same resistance between the two field terminals. What you have to look at is the spacing of the mounting bolt holes and the type and depth of the pulley. If the grooves are off, forward or rearward, by 1/16" you will likely have a bad belt squeal.
