I have a 2000 jaguar s type 115,000. Yesterday I drove it about 10 miles intown and it drove fine. (I did notice on occasion it would idle a little rough almost like above 1000 then below and above then below. But ya) so About 30 mins later I go to start my car and it starts really rough and loud so I turnd it off. I tried to restart it but it will only stay running if my foots on the gas and it stays between 2000 and 3000 rmps. As soon as I let off the gas it idles for a couple seconds and dies out. Almost like no gas but theres gas in my car. Does anyone have a clue to what could be wrong?

My wife's 2000 Jaguar s type 3.0 ltr has the same problem. It runs great for 15 or 20 minutes and then when you stop at a light they rpm goes up and down and dies. It restarts immediately but you have to put it in neutral and give it some gas until the traffic light turns green. Ram it into drive and go. It still runs good, it just won't idle. It shows no codes and I have no idea what is wrong. For both of our sakes I hope someone knows the answer.

My wife's 2000 jag s type 3 ltr. With automatic transmission does the same thing. Runs great for 15 or 20 minutes then when you pull up to a red traffic signal the rpm goes up and down and it dies. It immediately restarts and you have to put it in neutral and give it some gas until the traffic light turns green. Then you have to slide it into drive and go. It shows no codes. She can't drive the car.
For both of our sakes I hope someone knows the answer.
