Problems with selecting reverse gear on a Hyundai Trajet automatic gearbox.

This car has a fault with reversing gear, all the other gears work ok, what can I do to solve this problem my snap ethos only goes up to 2002in this model help pls.

Is the problem related to the shifter or does it seem to be an internal problem in the trans?

I have the same problem on my 2006 trajet. It is automatic and seems to be internal. From my POV, it seems to be shifted, but when I try to back up, nothing happens. Sometimes it will snap into place which is rather rough. Other times I just notice that I am not moving and have, to shift back to park and then try again to shift into reverse. Very frustrating! And I cannot find a rhyme or reason as to why it happens sometimes and not at other times.
