2000 Hyundai Sonata Repair Question

Irregular Revving and Idling.
2000 Hyundai Sonatas: Irregular engine idling and surging* at random often resulting in car shut down. No codes come up. Replaced TPS but did not fix problem... Any ideas?
*(Engine revs to 3-4000, drops to idle rev, then surges back to 3-4000 | When driving car randomly revs on its own. Pressing brake to avoid accident often results in engine shut down)
