I have a 2000 hyundai elantra sometimes it starts sometimes it dont. It will with ethier every time and it usually stays running. But lately its starting to shut off. It will turn over and when you hit the gas it really starts to turn over faster but it wont start. I own two of these cars and they both do the same thing except the one doesn't stay runing for long. Someone told me it could be a sensor or the fuel pump but if it was the fuel pump I dont see why it would even run. The car does not jerk like its out of gas or anything when its runing it just runs fine like perfect but now its starting to shut off like my other car any ideas?

If it has a serviceable fuel filter I'd start there first. If you haven't done so, then I'd also do a tuneup or at least check the plugs. Then at that point if it still no better you may want to consider looking into a timing belt service if you've not done one. They are generally done at 60,000 to 75,000 miles. Also make sure that your battery is fully charged and load tested properly and that the cables are clean and shiny inside and out and tight enough to not be removable my hand without a tool
