Over heat

Hello, i was driving in traffic with AC on, temp out was 99, going up a little hill car accident up ahead, AC stopped working and all of a sudden needle to temp was on high, no steam or water coming out, i waited for car to cool off i opened radiator it still had water, could it be i had AC in traffic with hill and hot out.please tell me i didnt break my vehicle.

i bet the cooling fan was not working. have it checked to be sure.

As i let it cool off, i was able to drive home and it didn't heat up again, but this time i didn't use the AC. Btw, i didn't mention that the radiator is at least 8 months old, brand new.
