. restarting problems.

I have a 2000 Honda Civic. Car will start up fine. After driving around neighborhood to store it won't restart. If I leave it for an hour or 2 it will start up again. Mechanic cannot diagnose problem because he can't replicate it. It starts every time for him but I don't think they are running it first since someone cannot just stay with the car and they can't leave it in their lot running with the key in it

sounds like fuel related but you need to leave it with them and let them drive it to get it to do it.

Intermittent problems are always a headache, especially when they seem to fear mechanics.

I agree with roy that it most probably is fuel related and the most common of such symptom would be the PGM-FI main relay which controls the fuel pump. Have that checked.
