2000 GMC Jimmy Rear differential

Hello I was wondering if a 98 sanoma rear end was the same as a 2000 jimmy rear end, if not could someone please tell me what is compatible that I can use, thank you. Mike

The only difference would be the gear ratio and whether or not it has disc brakes.

There are three numbers stamped on front of axle on pass side letting you know what ratio it is. You might have to have your ecm reprogrammed if it's a different ratio. Also if it is a higher ratio say 3:42 vs 2:93 your pickup won't be as fast but they should be pretty close anyhow.
