I have a 2000 taurus wagon 24valve dohc 3.0 engine. Original owner. Generally loaded with 3 kids bikes for all plus dog plus gear. We like to travel to go trailing. Do I need to replace original shocks and struts. I like this car and need to keep it for another 125000 miles. It sits a little low when loaded down. Safety is my primary concern

Yes, I would. They make what is called quick struts which are complete assemblies and they work grets.

A bit pricy but well worth it
