The car stalled on highway after a few minutes it restarted but I could only get it to barely move and barely keep rpms up. I did replace fuel filter and there were no warning lights lit, but the check engine light is lit

If the check engine light is on, you need to have the computer scanned for trouble codes. It will direct you to the problem.

The engine light was lit previous to the car stalling(2 monthes)the car, before it stalled idled slow when cold.I have to keep gas pedal floored to maintain 450 rpm and the car barely moves

It could be a throttle position sensor, engine misfire, major vacuum leak, fuel pressure issue. Without having the computer scanned, it becomes a guessing game. When it is scanned, it should identify trouble codes. From that, one can determine where the problem is coming from.
