Son's vehicle would not start. Motor turning over, but would not start and run. Left it overnight, got in the next morning, put the key in and turned it to the 'on' position, the A/C was on and the blower motor was set to high. I turned the blower motor off so I could listen to the car as it tried to start, started up as normal. Son drove it home, turned it off, would not start (again with A/C blower motor on, engine turns but will not start and run) turned A/C blower motor off, it starts as normal. Any idea why the blower motor turned on, while attempting to start, would cause this symptom? Also the blower motor has not worked on 'low' selection since we bought the truck, only works on high, and the A/C works (on high) once the car is running. This is a new symptom. Thanks!

Good morning,

Okay, when your get the key again let us know. You should scanning it for codes as well. This sounds like a fuel pump or the crankshaft angle sensor has gone out. When you turn the key to the on position without cranking the engine over can you hear the fuel pump run in the tank for 5 seconds?

Please run down this guide and report back.

It is in fact a 4.6 - it shows no codes - and this time it started with and without the AC and blower motor on. So I am not sure if it was a coincidence when it didn't start previously with A/C and blower motor on, but did with it off, perhaps it has to be warmed up before it exhibits the non start issue. Intermittent issues are the hardest to troubleshoot, so at this point I will have to wait for the symptom to present itself again and see what the circumstances are. I am new to this site so I don't know if issue can stay open or if it closes, but in either event thank you for your assistance. I may be back. :-)

Hello,

Only you can close it, you are now on my system so anytime in the future you reply to this thread I will get an email. So you are all good. Soon as something arises again just come to this thread and I will be here to help. Be extra sensitive of the conditions when it does, even the weather outside if it's raining, it's hot or cold out even bumpy roads or hitting a pot hole. Let us know also if it seems to be okay and oddly doesn't happen again.
I'll chat with you soon.
